Umbrella of the Domaine de la Blanque

The Vias photovoltaic shading project in the Hérault department (34), built and operated by Elements, was inaugurated on Monday, October 16, 2023.

Having injected its first electrons into the public distribution network in July 2023, the Vias power plant consists of 25,000 m² of photovoltaic modules installed on the photovoltaic shadings housing the parking area for the La Blanque caravan park. A double benefit: green electricity production and improved operating conditions for this 4.2-hectare site.

The plant comprises 9,590 bifacial photovoltaic panels, for a total installed capacity of 5.227 MWp. Annual production is estimated at 7.5 GWh/year, equivalent to the average annual electricity consumption of around 1,800 households. 100% of production is fed into the grid and consumed locally. Atmospheric emissions avoided are estimated at 425 tonnes of CO2 per year. The shade park was built in collaboration with local companies.

This project is transforming La Blanque's guarding business, providing a new service by protecting vehicles from the sun and bad weather.
With this project, Elements is also positioning itself as a player in raising awareness of energy management among young people. Local schoolchildren are invited to discover how a photovoltaic power plant works, and find out more about the energy industry.
